It's almost a month since I left Karimunjava for the second times. The one of the most beautiful island I wish I could visit again. These islands are located in the Java Sea, Indonesia. Known as a home for coral reefs, mangrove, coastal forest, and nearly 400 species of marine fauna and several step fauna like The White-Breasted Sea Eagles, Hawksbill Sea Turtles, and Green Sea Turtles lives inside.
SEA AS THE MAIN DESTINATION
Most of people who lived around the river or beach they love swimming. I lived near to the Komering river in South Sumatera when I was eight, and It had made me addicted to swim like every single day. Having a burned skin was not a big deal at that time. Swallowed a lot of water even did not matter because the taste was not salty at all (although the cleanliness was very doubtful). Those things such a little part of my memory that always bring me back to the sea/river/pool. I don't swim as a professional. But, I'm a bit confident to say that I can swim very well on my own way in the normal waves. So, what's gonna happen to me in the big waves?
First, I came to Karimunjava with a partner. We both love swimming, he's even much better than me. So, the day when we went to the sea for snorkeling, I was pretty sure that I had a nice breakfast with him, had enough exercise, and had reliable sunscreen for hanging around all the day, until I realized that all those things were useless in the end. After took off the clothes, we all jumped into the water with a big wave and a lot of amazing sea creatures inside. I jumped after him and used the snorkeling equipment in the water. At first, everything was fine until I felt something was coming out of my belly, followed by cramps in the legs, and dizziness in my head. I was fucked up. Lucky me, he never left me and took me back to the boat. And a few minutes later, do you know what? I really fucking vomited, I did it! ha-ha-ha!

FROM THE FISH BALLS TO FRIED RICE THAT ARE HARD TO FORGET
As a person who loved swimming so much, will love seafood in the same way. Fish has been the main menu for me since I was child. Did you ever heard before about Pindang Ikan Patin? That was my favorite one before I knew Rendang. Now, it's only spicy-spicy-spicy things in my life. Whatever you eat, you must to put something spicy/chillies inside. And it will be more fantastic when you combine grilled fish and chilli in it, or something soupy and spicy mixed in one bowl. I bet you will love it!
Beside being a heaven for divers, Karimunjava also known as a heaven for seafood and spicy food lovers. There was one center called Alun-Alun Karimunjawa where you can find many kind of fishes and shells. They sold fish and shells alive and then you can request for grilled or fried or uncooked if you want 🤣 Aaannd they also sold Fish Balls!!! Did you ever heard or even tried it? I swear when I ate it, a pieces of past memory comes out. The taste remembered me to the of one local famous food in South Sumatera that we called Tekwan. It's become even real when you put something spicy inside and made you cried for it.
Grilled fish was even more fantastic. If you are a grilled fish lover, then I recommend you to come here immediately. The one that I liked very much was a black fish, but not Brynden "Blackfish" Tully from Game of Thrones. This was really a black fish that had a soft meat textures and so fucking tasteful when you eat it with sambal and rice. By the way, Indonesian loves sambal. We have even more than 300 various of sambal that can make you cry so hard. Sambal like an opium, once you eat it, you will continue to be addicted to try it again and again. That time I tried the several kinds of sambal, such as: sambal kecap, sambal kacang, and of course sambal bawang. The last one is a favourite in many places and for many different kind of food.
The other one that unforgatable are the fried rice and the beer. They both did not sold in Alun-Alun Karimunjawa. The fried rice had been sold in our bungalow and beers were came from Germany. I loved the fried rice in my bungalow. It was look like a normal fried rice, with a normal rice and normal seasoning (instant seasoning 🤣). That was I thought before I knew that they were cooking it with homemade local seasoning and it was soooooo good. I never found a tasty fried rice with homemade seasoning beside the instant one that I often buy at Superindo. That's why I love it, and will miss it for an unspecified time. While for beer, we had some nice memory of it. Honestly, I don't know if I can describe about the taste of beer. So far I know, a beer can drive peoples in to a good feeling, nice memories, and warmth. That was what we felt. That was what I felt, something I miss from two bottles of beers.
ENJOYING THE ROAR OF WAVES AND THE BREEZE FROM BUNGALOW TERRACE
Before I speak further. I want you to know in advance that yesterday I lived in a bungalow on the second island in Karimunjava that took almost 20 minutes from the harbor by motorbike. So, I hope you can imagine how it was impossible to me or at least kind of tired/bored place to lived when you know the distance you have to take to be able in the tourist center. But that was only at the beginning...
This place was sooooo, I don't know how to say, but I don't regret been here at that time. First I will let you know the name of this place is Asari Timo Bungalows, same as the name of the beach there: Asari. The first time I came here, we were greeted by a very friendly young girl and her brother Sofyan. Sofyan is a friend of my partner. They both met about 2 or 2,5 years ago. Therefore, after our arrival, they took a time for asked the news from each other, I just sat and listened well (of course after getting acquainted). As an owner, Sofyan was a friendly guy and a nice friend. He spoke a lot about his business and told us that his guesthouse had never been advertised. The peoples (most of them are foreign tourist) who came here know about the Asari Timo from the previous guest's blogs, just like what I'm doing now. I was surprised, how it could be? the only answer I can say there is no good signal for internet connection. (Alright, this is the second island, you may get a peaceful without any disruption from the internet).
So, is that also the only one reason for me to write it down and publish it? of course not. I loved that place and would like to share it with you guys. Indonesia has a lot of hidden paradises and I have a lot of amazing stories that I have to capture in this blog. Listened to the roar of waves, the breeze, and the shine sun, are the part of what I've dreamed it for my entire life. The place was like having a good friendship anyway between wind and the beach. They were like talking all the day no matter what, even in the middle of the day you will never feel burn in it, never feel lonely, and always feel like full of warmth, the one from the nature and the other from the peoples.
LIMITED ACCESS WHICH ACTUALLY GIVES A PEACEFUL
Like I said in the beginning: there was not the stable internet connection over there, even there was not signal at all for a few sim card (should I say it? just ask me then in the comment column).
For several peoples, especially the one who always check out of their Instagram account in every 5 minutes, that must be boring to be there all the time. Wait, how about the WiFi? Is there any WiFi in that bungalow? hmm.. what should I say? I think they are working on it 🙂 But for me, for us, that was perfect without any good internet connection. Sometimes those things were not so important at all when you are already with someone who you want to spend the time with.
